All participants must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for a Traffic Controller Licence therefore we require the same standards prior to enrolment into this course:
Licences are processed by Queensland Transport following completion of the course. As at 1 July 2011, the Licence Application Fee including the Criminal History Check Fee is $125.80 for a three year licence. Licence fees are subject to change without notice however they are normally increased on 1 July annually.
Licence Applications are lodged at most Queensland Transport Customer Service Centres. The approximate processing time for licence applications is 3 - 4 weeks due to the time required for criminal history checks although this time may vary in some cases. Applicants are not permitted to work as a Traffic Controller until they receive their Licence.
Traffic Controllers are required to undertake a refresher course every three years in order to maintain their accreditation. See our Traffic Controller Refresher Course for this information.
This course is conducted over 6 hours.
NOTE: From 1 February 2012 this course will also include 20 Hours of Industry Placement (Logbook required). More details will be available shortly.
The cost of this course is $600
